About the founder
Maitte Penalver
Hi, I’m Maitte.
I know what it’s like to hear the words “You have cancer.” I also know what it’s like to wonder who you are after treatment ends. As a three-time cancer survivor and stem cell transplant recipient, I’ve experienced the uncertainty, fear, grief, and resilience that come with surviving cancer. I’ve also learned that healing doesn’t stop when treatment is over—it begins.
That belief became the foundation of The Onco Collective.
After my own journey, I became a certified life coach because I wanted to create the kind of support I wish more survivors had access to.
While doctors focus on treating cancer, my passion is helping survivors navigate everything that comes after:
Processing the emotional impact of cancer
Adjusting to a new normal
Managing fear of recurrence
Rebuilding confidence
Rediscovering purpose
Creating a meaningful life beyond cancer
My lived experience allows me to understand this journey in a way that can’t be learned from a textbook. I’ve been there. I know how lonely survivorship can feel. And I also know how transformative it can be with the right support.
Today, my mission is simple.
To help cancer survivors move from surviving to truly living. Because healing isn’t about returning to who you were before cancer. It’s about becoming who you’re meant to be after it.
